The Dionysus, Gucci’s latest bag,is a special piece with meaning. It’s story is told through the tiger head closure — a new motif for the brand — which represents the myth of Greek god Dionysus. There are many kinds of the myth, one of them is that the design of the bag is inspired when Dionysus, son of Zeus, transformed himself into a tiger to carry a young nymph across the river, which then became the Tigris river.
The collection features five bags varying in materials and design, and all unique in their own way. There are, however, two bags that stand out in the collection. One features a hand-embroidered bee, made from brass strips wrapped in silk thread and the other is an elegant floral print bag — an easy and stylish way to add a splash of colour to your outfits.
Work some colour into your fall wardrobe.
These two statement pieces are must-haves for Fall/Winter 2015. The design of the bags is a reflection of Gucci’s new beginning and is both versatile and stylish enough for work and a night on the town.
The bee-detail Dionysus bag sale features the key colours for Fall and Winter.
Though the brand still stays true to its monogram canvas, Alessandro Michele’s reinterpretation of the print makes all the difference.
